Church schedules Wednesday Lenten services

      Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive, is preparing for Easter with devotional Wednesday Lenten services. Services are scheduled at 7 p.m. today, March 25 and April 1.
      The topic of this evening's sermon is "The Nail of Envy." On March 25, the topic will be "The Nail of Betrayal" and on April 1, "The Nail of Cruelty."
      Preceding the weekly services, a soup supper will be served by the auxiliary groups of the church. The supper will begin at 6 p.m. in the Social Hall.
      The Lenten services will conclude each week with a brief healing service. Those who wish to remain following the services are invited to the altar to receive the anointment of consecrated oil and prayers for their special needs.
      -- The Lev HaShem Messianic Congregation, 920 S. Decatur Blvd., will celebrate the second night of Passover with a traditional Passover Seder at 6:30 p.m. April 11 at the Palace Station. The event will consist of a full-course sit-down dinner, ceremony, Davidic dance and worship.
