Commissioner to host
breakfast discussion
County Commissioner Lance Malone has scheduled an informal pancake breakfast discussion for the public at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The event is scheduled at County Fire Station No. 7, 10101 W. Banburry Cross Drive in Summerlin.
The public is encouraged to participate in the open discussion and enjoy a free breakfast.
Youth to compete
in talent search
The 19th Search for Talent senior division competition is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Reed Whipple Cultural Center, 821 N. Las Vegas Blvd.
Youths, ages 15 to 18 will compete in the event co-sponsored with the city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Breakfast Exchange Club.

The Area Finale Contest will be held April 18 at 7 p.m.
General admission tickets cost $3 and are available through breakfast exchange club members, the Reed Whipple Cultural Center box office and at the door.
Documentary film
focuses on Munch
A documentary film series will feature 19th century artist Edvard Munch at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. General admission is $2.
Munch was crucified by critics and the public in the late 19th century.
He is now considered to be one of the major figures of modern art. Combining biography, sociology, history, psychology and visual analysis, this documentary is a monument to a repressed, obsessive man whose life and art foretold the anxiety of the 20th century. The 1976 film, "Edvard Munch," is in Norwegian and German with English subtitles.
Dance troupe brings
street life to stage
Urban Bush Women, a New York dance troupe, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St.
The dancers use powerful, percussive movements in a unique celebration of their sheer woman power.
Musically, the group incorporates a cappella songs, religious chants, raps and hollers to create an artistic expression of life on the street.
Tickets are advance: $10 adults, $8 students, seniors, disabled; at the door: $12 and $10.

Registration for creative drama classes is being taken through Friday at Charleston Heights Cultural Center, 800 S. Brush St.

Tole-painting class
has Easter theme
An Easter tole-painting class is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Becker Community School, 9110 Hillpointe Road, Summerlin.
The class features carrots, eggs and bunnies to give your change-out tree a festive Easter look. Teens and adults are invited to register.

youth council to meet
Charleston Heights Community School is looking for teen-agers, age 12 to 18, to participate in the Youth Council Program.
Members can make new friends and get involved in their community.
