Fellowship changes worship site

Hallelujah Christian Fellowship has moved into a temporary new church facility at at 3656 N. Rancho Drive.
The congregation will hold Sunday services in the new location at 8:30 and 11 a.m. and an evening service at 6 p.m. An additional Wednesday evening service takes place at 7 p.m.

-- Las Vegas Hebrew High, a community-wide continuing Jewish education program for teen-agers in grades 8 through 12, will start its 1998-'99 season on Thursday, Nov. 5.
The program offers classes and activities that encourage teens to feel a part of the local and world Jewish community. Students will strengthen their ties to their heritage, explore the dynamics of Jewish knowledge and study contemporary issues.
Classes will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hebrew Academy, 9700 W. Hillpointe Road.

-- The Women of Saint Joseph will hold their Holiday Treasure Shop's Craft and Bake Sale at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.
The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8.
A variety of craft items, including homemade floral arrangements, afghans, gift baskets and painting items will be available for sale.

-- Congregation Ner Tamid's adult education committee is sponsoring a free lecture on the traditional Jewish standing prayer Amidah.
Rabbinical intern Leah Malmon's lecture will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Congregation Ner Tamid, 2761 Emerson Ave.

-- Shield of Faith Christian Center, 2717 York St., will hold a "Hallelujah Concert" from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday.
A program featuring soloists, choirs and musical groups from Las Vegas and Pomona, Calif., is scheduled for the event. Snacks, music and prizes will also be available.

-- Spring Meadows Presbyterian Church, 1600 E. Oakey Blvd., is sponsoring a Reformation Celebration Carnival. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Food, games, music and an open house tour of the church's soon-to-open Christian preschool will be included in the program.
-- Valerie A. Garrick has been called to serve as pastor of First Congregational Church, 1200 N. Eastern Ave.
Rev. Garrick came to Las Vegas from Kansas City, Mo., where she worked as an interim pastor and hospital chaplain. Her first service with First Congregational will take place Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
