      "I have multiple sclerosis, so what. Life goes on," Elvester said. "We're ordinary people, we have jobs, we all drive to work ... well not all of us drive to work."

Poetry earns praise for Meadows' pupils

Poems written by two middle school pupils from The Meadows School -- Janusz Wasiolek and Annalee Levin -- were among the top 10 in a statewide contest sponsored by the Nevada Poetry Society.
      The contest, which was open to children in public, private and parochial schools, featured a junior division for grades six through eight and a senior division for grades nine through 12. The top 10 from each division were selected by the Nevada Poetry Society and will be forwarded to The Manningham Student Contest, a national competition.
