      An influx of new Clark County School District teachers from out of state are feeling a bit more at home with the help of the district's New Teacher Welcome Center.
      "We're here to show them all the different support that's available in Las Vegas, not just with us, but throughout the whole city, and help them to feel welcome," said Edana Shawver, a third-grade teacher at Kim Elementary School and a member of the New Teacher Cadre, a district group focused on planning, organization, classroom management and efficient instruction. District addresses student dress code

      It's almost that time of year again for more than 200,000 children in Clark County to go back to school. And that means parents and youngsters are crowding the stores, shopping for school clothes before the bells ring on Aug. 23.
      However, the Clark County School District has a specific dress code, one that gives school administrators the right to designate which types of dress or appearance disrupt or detract from the educational program.
