Optimism aplenty at Camp Cartwheel

      When William Terry was diagnosed last year with leukemia, the 13-year-old's reaction was typical of most facing a life-threatening disease: "Why did this happen to me?"
      But Terry, who will be an eighth-grader at Silvestri Middle School this year, chose to learn more about the disease and decided, "It's really not that bad."

National Night Out promotes community

      Hundreds of residents dropped by Mirabelli Park on Aug. 3 for a night of fun, food and crime-fighting tips.
      The small throng was among more than 32 million nationwide participating in National Night Out, a 16-year-old program sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch out of Wynewood, Penn.
