      In the past few years, the term "neighborhood casino" has carried a negative connotation.
      Yet for many residents in southeastern Henderson, the New Year's Eve opening of the Magic Star Casino, located at 2000 S. Boulder Highway and Magic Way, was welcome news.

Club unit slated for expansion

      Soon area skateboarders and in-line skaters will have a new place to roll.
      The John Kish unit of the Henderson Boys & Girls Club, 401 Drake St., is scheduled to open a new skate park in April. Club director Clyde Caldwell said a pool company will be selected to build the new facility in February and construction should start by the end of that month.
