     Basketball league
     to begin Saturday
     
     
The Desert Breeze Community Center men's over-30 basketball league begins Saturday.
      Games will run from 9 a.m. -1 p.m.
      Players will be carded at the door. Entry fee is $250 per team for the season, plus an additional $20 per game for referee fees.

     Nevada Partners
     dominates tourney
     
     
A squad of boxers from the Nevada Partners Boxing Gym was successful at the recently held Silver State Gloves Tournament in Norwalk, Calif.
      Kiley Ellul, Lucio Mendoza, Anthony McNair, Gerardo Mendez, Hugo Barrigan, Benjamin Garcia, Devin Brown, Miguel Mendoza, Nelson Mendoza, Anthony Cordoza, Andrew Schuck, Saul Luna, Sergio Moreno, Jaime Moreno, Alvaro Morales, Bianca Luna and Melinda Cooper -- all of the Nevada Partners -- were among the top winners in the tournament.
      The team was coached by James Pena, Raul Morales and Pops Anderson, and the team manager was Richard Steele.
     
     Little League
     sign-ups due
     
     
The Paradise Valley National Little League will have its registration on Jan. 23, 27 and 30.
      Sign-ups are slated for the Galleria Mall on the second level, in front of J.C. Penney.
      Registration will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on the 23rd and the 30th, and from 4-6 p.m. on the 27th.

     Registration set
     for youth soccer
     
     
Rainbow Youth Soccer will have registration for children ages 3 1/2-13 at the Community College of Southern Nevada's West Charleston campus in building B.
      Sign-ups continue tonight, 19th and 27th from 6-9 p.m., and will also be on Jan. 16 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
