Agency to host free
seminar on retirement

Jewish Family Services Agency will present a free seminar on financial planning for retirement. The seminar will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Congregation Ner Tamid, 2761 Emerson Ave.
Presentations will be made concerning medical, legal, financial, and emotional components intended to prepare people for successful retirement.

n Desert Spring United Methodist Church has appointed Jamie Dick as its new minister of music.
Dick, who has experience as a musical director, teacher and soloist, will also serve as the youth minister.
Desert Spring United Methodist Church meets Sundays at 8 and 9:30 a.m. at Palo Verde High School, 333 Pavilion Center Drive in Summerlin.

n The Jewish Genealogical Society will discuss research through the U.S. Census in its January meeting.
Special attention will be focused on the 1920 Census and the NARA Soundex code, which assists in tracking surnames.
The meeting will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

n Jewish Women International will welcome KTNV-TV, Channel 13, anchor Alyson McCarthy to its Jan. 20 breakfast meeting.
