Pool opens
for public use The Pahrump pool is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The pool is open for a senior swim from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday-Friday; for ARC swimming lessons 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and for a public swim 12:30 to 7 p.m. Monday-Friday. The pool is also open to the public from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Budahl wins Inferno title Gary Budahl captured the fourth Pahrump Valley Open Inferno title with an even-par 59 July 4 at the Calvada Executive Golf Course. Budahl won by three strokes over second-place Ivers Gals. Maggie Thomas won the women's division over Julie Floyd with a 66. Both champions earned trophies and $100 gift certificates. Proceeds from the tournament will go the Pahrump Valley Youth Golf Founders Club, an organization that runs the youth program in the valley and also awards an annual $5,000 scholarship to a Pahrump Valley High School student who is active in the golf program. Inferno organizers anticipate donating at least $2,000 to the founder's club this year. Calvada forming golf leagues The Calvada Country Club is forming new golf leagues that will be open to the general public and country club members. Couples will play on Tuesdays, men on Wednesdays and ladies on Thursdays. |
