      North Las Vegas voters chose a veteran and a newcomer to sit on the City Council.
      Councilman William Robinson won a fifth term in the June 8 general election, garnering the most votes (3,108) among the four candidates vying for two seats.

Fire department concerned about growth

      North Las Vegas has experienced growth spurts the last few years, growing by 15 percent last year -- compared to Henderson's 7 percent.
      In 1990, there were about 47,000 people living in North Las Vegas; the number has more than doubled to 107,000.
