      Since being elected to the Henderson City Council in 1995, Amanda Cyphers has remained dedicated to keeping her council position a full-time job.
      But in the weeks leading up to her re-election in the May 4 primary race, Cyphers took on another primary position of much greater importance.

Software producer aids small business

      Tucked away at the southeast end of Henderson exists one of the nation's leading software producers for mid-sized retailers, which recently unveiled a new product designed to assist small businesses at a small cost.
      CAM Data Systems Inc. was founded in 1983 by CEO Geoff Knapp, an eight-year resident of Boulder City. Headquartered in Fountain Valley, Calif., the company moved its research, training and development facility to Henderson in April 1997. The facility, which employs about 40 of CAM Data's 170 personnel, is located at 1202 High Tech Circle within the partially developed Wagon Wheel Industrial Park.
