Football parties abound

A dog and a beer. A hat and a jersey.
All can be had for a buck at Terrible's Lakeside Casino during its weekly Monday Night Football parties, and similar deals are also available at Pahrump's Mountain View and Saddle West Casinos.
The party at Lakeside is in the spacious bingo room, and the doors open at 5 p.m., about an hour before kickoff. Guests receive two free drawing tickets when they enter and get two more tickets if they bet the game at the sports book and two more for a halftime wager.
More than $500 worth of souvenirs, ranging from hats and sweatshirts to clocks and rugs, are given away each Monday night.
Cheap refreshments are available, including $1 for a beer and a choice of a hot dog or a slice of pizza, or $2 for a beer in a souvenir Miller Lite pilsner team glass, which also comes with a choice of a hot dog or pizza. Refills, which also include a hot dog or pizza, are only $1.
At halftime of the game, which is shown on a giant screen, drawings are held for losing parlay tickets from the college and pro football weekend. Three tickets will be drawn, with the respective winners receiving five times, 10 times and 20 times the amount of their losing tickets. For example, a losing $5 parlay card would pay $100 if it's drawn in the 20 times round.
Mountain View also shows the game on a big screen in its new convention center. Admission to the party is $5, which includes plenty of giveaways, a free drink and an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Saddle West shows the game at its bar and inside Leroy's Sports Book, but hosts a special Monday Night Football party in its showroom for its Club 99 members.
Club members receive a free hot dog and beer each week and only pay 50 cents for each additional dog or beer. Other food is also available and there are also weekly giveaways and a chance to win a private Super Bowl party for 12. The game is shown on a giant screen in the showroom.
Those interested in joining Club 99 can sign up at the Player's booth. The membership fee, which also includes 20 percent off at the hotel gift shop, is $10.
There is also a race and sports book at Terrible's Town, which carries all the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball action and features simulcasts from a dozen different horse tracks from across the country. Courtesy racing forms are available to horse players and a sports ticker keeps fans abreast of all the action. Sports fans can also request which games they want to watch. On Saturday and Sunday, Terrible's Town offers a hot dog and a beer for $1.
Bill Foley, who has worked at the Terrible's Town Race and Sports Book since it opened more than a year ago, is the new race and sports book manager. Foley, who replaced Perry Swanson in October, said the book handles an average of $100,000 on a football weekend and around $20,000 on the horses each weekend.
The upcoming Monday Night Football schedule includes the New York Jets at the New England Patriots on Monday and the Oakland Raiders at the Denver Broncos on Nov. 22.
