Preservation project under way at water district property

      After dozens of public workshops, meetings and discussions, work is under way at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve, the Las Vegas Valley Water District's long-term preservation project.
      The newest phase of the project is the restoration of the historic Little Spring Springhouse by excavating soil from a structure designed to protect the original source of water for the Las Vegas Valley.

      The Las Vegas Art Museum is making history with the presentation of works by six Las Vegas artists.
      The exhibition is the museum's first undertaking that focuses exclusively on local artists and will run through Sept. 26.
