Youths gain access to computer lab

      A growing gap in computer literacy among children who have access to computers and those who don't has led city officials and members of the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson to open a new facility at the Whitney Ranch Satellite Center.
      The 400-square-foot library and computer lab, temporarily located at 1725 Galleria Drive, is housed in a trailer on the south side of White Middle School. The computers will be moved from their current location to their permanent home down the street upon the completion of the Whitney Ranch Recreation Center/Aquatic Complex, scheduled to open this spring.

      In his office, Roger Buss' massive hands framed his jovial, doughy face as the Galloway Elementary principal talked about his 37-year career in education.
      In the background, the two-way radio squawked as administrators let each other know what was going on during recess as they patrolled the school's playground.
