Art appreciation

      Pupils at Taylor Elementary were recently treated to an unusual lesson in art appreciation when approximately 20 members of the professional art community demonstrated their talents at the school.
      The visits were organized through an educational series called "Children of the Arts." Now in its second year, the program is designed to offer elementary-aged pupils a firsthand glance at what kinds of art-related careers are available and what those careers entail.

Event to help fight cancer

      This weekend, Henderson residents won't have to travel far in order to help out in the fight against cancer.
      The American Cancer Society has scheduled its second Henderson "Relay for Life" event for Friday and Saturday at Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Road.
