      Residents and business owners with concerns about fire protection in northeast Henderson can rest easier following the opening of the city's sixth fire station.
      Station 96, located at 96 Via Antincendio, near the entrance to Lake Las Vegas, was built by the developers of the master-planned resort community. With a number of dignitaries -- and the requisite dalmatian -- on hand, Lake Las Vegas Resort Executive Vice President Bill Hunt turned over the facility's keys to city officials during a brief ceremony Jan. 25.

      The Clark County Department of Family and Youth Services' Parenting Project is helping parents become better in their daily roles through a series of community workshops.
