     Solar distributor
     gains certification

United Solor Energy Inc., the exclusive distributor of Heliocol Solar pool collectors, was recently granted permission by the International Organization of Standardization to promote its product, the ISO9002 certified.
Relatively few manufacturers have the privilege of placing the ISO9002 emblem on their products. Only those companies performing at the highest levels in their industries have the ability to meet the requirements specified by this demanding international standard.
In the two-year process necessary to gain certification, their customer service records, product failure rate and engineering processes were all carefully scrutinized.
"We are all very proud of this accomplishment because we all worked so hard to make this goal a reality," said Ranen N. Ghatak, United Solar Energy president. "It is a wonderful feeling to receive this type of world-class validation for a job well done."

     New unit at UMC
     to benefit sick kids

University Medical Center's new Children's Clinical Decision Unit, which opened in early January, is the first of its kind in Las Vegas.
The five-bed unit, located in UMC's Children's Center, allows physicians to directly observe patients who need extra medical attention but don't need to be admitted to the hospital.
In the past, children too ill to go home but not ill enough to be admitted to UMC had to wait in the Children's Emergency Department for extended periods of time. The Children's Clinical Decision Unit will serve pediatric patients who have the flu, croup, asthma, congestion or who are vomiting or have been poisoned.
"Observation units are becoming more and more popular and I'm glad to see that University Medical Center is on the cutting edge of this trend," said Dr. Larry Satowiak, medical director for UMC's Children's Emergency Room.

     Day spa offering
     tandem massages

Euphoria Salons and Day Spas are now offering a tandem massage, which uses two massage therapists rather than one.
"The tandem massage allows your body to relax at a deeper level than other massages because it is harder to predict what is going to happen next, and you are less likely to tense up," said James Ketron, senior message therapist at Euphoria's Green Valley location.
The tandem massage is available at both Euphoria Day Spa locations, on Green Valley Parkway and Sunset Road and on Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road.
Those interested can call 436-4247 or 233-8866.
