      The Doolittle Community Center did a little something extra for the community during the Memorial Day weekend by putting on the Unity Day Festival to get the summer fun started.
      The festival offered a number of contests, which included a best barbecue contest, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, an all-star baseball game and Domino doubles.

Project improves traffic

      The city of North Las Vegas celebrated the completion of the Camino Al Norte improvement project on May 24.
      The Regional Transportation Commission contributed $1.6 million to the $2.9 million project, with the remainder coming from the Regional Flood Control District and the city.
