Plethora of events set for festival

The 16th Craft Fair, Rib Burn Off and Car Show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Sunset Park, 2601 E. Sunset Road.
      The event will feature the best barbecue in town, more than 100 booths with quality handmade arts and crafts, live entertainment, 150 hot rods and classic cars on display in the Cars, Stars & Guitars car show, and a children's activity and game area.
      Rib Burn Off participants will be serving up their best barbecue recipes of chicken, ribs and barbecue sandwiches. This year's participants are Memphis Championship Barbeque; Big Mama's Cooking Inc.; Buster's Bar-B-Que, which was 1999's Rib Burn Off Winner; Tallulah Too Catering; RKS Catering; The Old Chuck Wagon Trail Master (Nevada Palace); Smokehouse Specialities; Nitro Grill; and Charles Smiths' Mr. C's Barbecue.
      Additional items for sale include ice cream, sodas and beer. The Rib Burn Off winner will be announced Sunday afternoon.
      Homemade crafts available for purchase include oil and water color paintings, jewelry, weavings, stained glass, furniture, pottery, ceramics, clothing and silk flowers and country crafts. Stars, Cars & Guitars will host more than 150 classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, and boats throughout the festival area.
      Dance to the beat of rock, classics and blues. Saturday's lineup includes: The House of Blues Schoolhouse Band, Connie Emerson, Mark Huff, Leisure Lizards, Ruffnecks and Seminiferous. Sunday's lineup includes: Penny's Pet Dragonfly, Epsteins Mother, Home Cookin', Expert on October and Loveshack. Kids entertainment at the Kid's Corner includes: juggling acts, Hair Flair, magic shows, free make 'n take crafts and pony rides. Some fees apply.
      Pets and coolers are not permitted within the festival grounds. This event is co-sponsored by KVVU-TV, Channel 5; Cars, Stars & Guitars; KSTJ-FM (105.5); KJUL-FM (104.3); KKLZ-FM (96.3); and www.lvlocalmusicscene.com. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for youths. Kids 3 and under are free.
