Top cop sworn into dream job

      Highlighting his childhood dream of serving in the law enforcement community, Michael Mayberry was recently sworn in as Henderson's new chief of police.
      The 47-year-old Mayberry said he's known he wanted to work in law enforcement since he was a young boy watching his father, George, serve as a Nevada Highway Patrol officer.

Temple observes tragedy

      Nearly 700 members of the Jewish community gathered at Midbar Kodesh Temple on May 2 to remember the damage done by Nazi troops during World War II.
      Yom HaShoah is an annual day to remember the 6 million Jews who died during the Holocaust and the strength of resilience of those that survived, said Beth Miller, director of public relations for the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas.
