FESTIVAL CenterPointe Church celebrates spring CenterPointe Church will celebrate both the coming of Spring and their first anniversary at the First Easter Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cartwright Elementary School, 1050 E. Gary Ave. Pastor Tim Salters said the event will feature free food, live music from the church's band and games for the whole family. So far he plans to have hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, snow cones and popcorn. Children can jump in the bounce house or play outdoor games. The public is invited free of charge. Salters is hoping to see a crowd at the event. "We're trying to prepare for 300 to 400 people but we would like to be overwhelmed," he said. The interdenominational church holds meetings in Cartwright Elementary School every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. For more information, call Salters at 339-2815. AUTO SHOW Chili-cook off, this weekend Boulder Palms Luxury Suites, 4350 Boulder Highway, is the site for a chili challenge cook-off and the Herb Hall Memorial Fun in the Sun Auto Show. The auto show begins with a Friday welcome party and extends through a Saturday car show, swap meet and barbecue. The auto show is sponsored by the Southern Nevada Chapter of the Studebaker Club, but all makes of cars are welcome. The chili cook-off begins Saturday and is hosted by the Green Chili Association.
