Gerald Thomas Clowes

Gerald "Gary" Thomas Clowes, age 40, died July 30 in Pahrump.

He was born May 12, 1961 in New Brighton, Pa. Owner of Alley Street Rods, he was a 3 1/2-year resident of Pahrump.

He is survived by his parents, Gerald and Dorothy Clowes of Pennsylvania; wife Tina Clowes and their son Michael of Las Vegas; a special lady, Stacia Trehus and their children, Thomas and Gretchen of Pahrump; and a sister, Dorothy Operhall of Florida.

Services were held with burial at Sylvania Cemetery in Rochester, Pa. Neptune Society of Nye County handled arrangements.

Olive Kain

Olive Louise Kain, 85, died July 21.

She was born May 2, 1916, in Yankton, S.D. A homemaker, she was a 23-year resident of Pahrump.

She is survived by her sons, James and Patrick; daughter, Barbara Mills, all of Pahrump; sister, Geraldine Acers of Nebraska; brothers, Eugene Acers and Paul Acers, both of Maryland, Gary Acers of New Mexico and Arthur Acers of Montana; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held July 29 at Chief Tacopa Cemetery in Pahrump. Bunkers Mortuary handled the arrangements. The family requests memorial donations be made to Harbor House Hospice.

Robert Walter Koeller

Robert Walter Koeller, age 68, died July 31 in Las Vegas.

He was born April 9, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wis. A retired Hyster mechanic in the heavy-equipment industry, he was a 5-year resident of Pahrump.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean Koeller; sons Jeff Koeller of Las Vegas and John Koeller of Pahrump; daughters, Christine Koeller of California and Cathy (Peter) Ranstrom of Henderson; sisters, Linda Koeller and Ruth Manthe, both of Wisconsin; and two grandchildren.

Celebration of Life memorial service was held Aug. 4 at the Neptune Society Chapel with pastor Ron Mayer officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Nathan Adelson Hospice, Pahrump Branch.

Martin Eugene McClay

Martin Eugene McClay, age 76, died July 28.

He was born Dec. 27, 1924 in Azusa, Calif. A retired employee in U.S. Government service, he was an 18-year resident of Pahrump.

He and his wife served as missionaries for 16 years in construction and repair of Christian facilities throughout the United States with the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty of Pahrump; sons, Bruce, Wayne and Patrick McClay, all of California; a daughter, Karen Hatfield of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Erna Payton

Erna Payton, age 76, died Aug. 1 in Las Vegas.

She was born Sept. 16, 1924 in Idaho. A retired mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, she was an 11-year resident of Pahrump.

She is survived by her mother, Lucie McGlumphy of Arizona; brother Reed (Patty) Howard of Arizona; daughters, Laurel Anne Pries, Linda Diane Van Landingham, Deborah Rae Waters, and Brenda Dawn Backness, all of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.

Visitation was held Aug. 6 at Pahrump Family Chapel with graveside services Aug. 7 at Chief Tecopa Cemetery.

Rhea Sanland

Rhea Sanland, age 83, died Aug. 3 in Pahrump.

She was born Jan. 8, 1918 in Kansas City, Kansas. A retired checker-cashier with Frontier, she is a 3-year resident of Pahrump.

She is survived by daughters, Norma Sutton and Sandra Sanland, both of Pahrump; sisters, Beverly Custer and Carmen Nelson, both of Missouri; brother, Jim Barnes of Missouri; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Sanland and a son, James Fulkerson.

There were no services. In lieu of flowers, make donations to your favorite charity or to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
