Carl Ray Johnson

Carl Ray Johnson, 57, died June 4 in Las Vegas.

He was born April 18, 1944 in Peoria, Ill. A truck driver, he was an 11-year resident of Pahrump.

He is survived by his mother, Viola Bader, of Illinois; sons, Robert Carl Johnson Sr., of Pahrump; and Kacey Delray Johnson, of Illinois; daughters, Renee Jenkins, Cari Johnson, and Naomi Raye Gardner, all of Illinois; sister, Marilyn Turner, of Illinois; and four grandchildren.

Services were held on June 12 at Neptune Society of Nye County Chapel.

James Allen Miller

James Allen Miller, 76, died June 2 in Pahrump.

He was born May 25, 1925 in Evansville, Ill.

A medic for 24 years at the Tonopah Test Site, he was a 10-year resident of Pahrump.

He is survived by Joan Foster, Pahrump; son, James Allen Miller II, of Ely; stepson, Paul James Foster, of Pahrump; daughters, Carolyn Geil, of Fernley and Michele (Bart) Freevol, of Pahrump; stepdaughters, Susan Carolyn Wilson and Diane (Jeff) Blankenship, both of Pahrump; brother, Max Miller, of Arizona; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date. The Neptune Society of Nye County handled arrangements.

Frank George Porter

Frank George Porter, 88, died June 1 in Pahrump.

He was born February 27, 1913 in Adamson, Okla.

He was a carpenter in the home building industry and a five-year resident of Pahrump.

He is survived by a son, George Vernon Porter, of Alaska; daughters, Francis (Chuck) Wellong, of Alaska, Nora (Albert) Bauer of Pahrump and Linda (Dale) Bostrack of Virginia; sisters, Mabel Steinholl and Katie Parchman, both of California; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Neptune Society of Nye County Chapel on June 5.

The Neptune Society of Nye County handled arrangements.
