Soccer all-stars finish fourth

The Pahrump Valley under-14 girls' all-star team got off to a great start at the recent American Youth Soccer Organization Tournament at the Lancaster (Calif.) National Soccer Center.

The girls won twice on opening day, including a 7-0 pasting of Camarillo, Calif., to move into a tie for first place. Injuries, however, caught up, inhibiting PV from substituting and the girls finished fourth of eight teams in the "B" Group.

Fifty-nine teams in age groups from under-19 to under-10 competed in the tournament on the 22-field facility in Lancaster. The Pahrump Valley under-14 team is coached by Tony Cascioppo.
