But across the nation people paused to honor those who have fallen to HIV while encouraging prevention of the future spread of the disease.

Like many tourists in Washington, D.C. right now, the Carpenello family, Dino, Darla and sons Dalton and Dannon (ages 9 and 10), carry things like cameras and sunscreen. Unlike most tourists, they also have insulin. And that is the reason for their trip.
