CELEBRATION

Red, White & Boom

returns to park

The Red, White & Boom 2001 Fourth of July celebration is scheduled for 2 to 10 p.m. July 4 at Desert Breeze Park, 8275 Spring Mountain Road.

The event will include children's activities and performances, a car show, sports contests, food vendors, exhibitors, music and a 20-minute fireworks display.

New to the event this year are skateboard demonstrations and music by Neveready, 3rd Man In, Lucky 7, Fairview and Downer.

CONCERT

Philharmonic ready

for celebration

The Star Spangled Spectacular Fourth of July celebration spotlighting the Las Vegas Philharmonic is slated for 5 p.m. July 4 at Hills Park in Summerlin, 9100 Hillpointe Road.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, and free for kids younger than 5 years old. For more information call 895-2787.

EMA seeks electronic

work samples

Members of the television, radio and marketing industries are asked to submit their best work for the 14th annual Electronic Media Awards (EMA) during "Call For Entries," on July 17 in the main lobby of the Sprint building, 330 S. Valley View Blvd.

Entries will be accepted from noon to 5 p.m. only. "Call For Entries" forms will be distributed to all local television and radio stations, advertising agencies, production companies, public relations firms and other interested companies.
