WETLANDS PARK: Fire damage minimal

Five days after the Clark County Wetlands Park fire, ash was still tumbling from the sky and flair ups were filling the air with smoke. Nearly 300 acres of park land burned in a blaze that began just before noon on March 29 and continued through the evening. The enormous cloud of black smoke over the park was visible for miles, but park planner Bruce Sillitoe said since the park stretches over 2,900 acres in all, the fire wasn't the calamity it appeared to be.
