Catholic Charities sponsors Easter Party
Needy families are invited to an Easter party Saturday at Catholic Charities Social Services at 1511 Las Vegas Blvd. North, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Parent identification and a Social Security number for each child attending are required.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Thomas More Catholic parishes will present children with Easter baskets. St. Ann Seton's youth group will paint children's faces and supervise games. The Easter Bunny will visit and new clothing donated by Kids in Distress, Inc. will be distributed to children from infancy through age 10.

LECTURE
Architect to speak
at UNLV campus
Glenn Murcutt, 2002 Laureate of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, will speak at the Paul B. Sogg architecture building on the UNLV campus at 7 p.m. today as part of the Klai Juba Lecture Series.
The event, which begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.

UNLVino set to
return April 26
UNLVino, one of the nation's largest single-day wine tastings, is set for April 26 at the Paris Las Vegas.
More than 100 vintners from around the world will showcase 300 varieties of wine at the 29th annual event. Live music and a Southern Wine and Spirits wine auction also will be featured. All proceeds from the event will benefit the University of Nevada, Las Vegas's William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration.
Advance tickets are $35 through Ticketmaster, the www.unlvino.com Web site, the UNLV Performing Arts Center Box Office, or at the UNLV Bookstore. Tickets for $50 will be sold at the door on the day of the event. For more information, call 876-4500 or 895-3161.
Sunrise hospital
concert planned
On Tuesday, a group of local musicians is planning to offer a free concert only open to hospitalized children and their families.
The Sunrise Children's Hospital Concert is scheduled to feature Paige O'Hara, the voice of Belle in the movie "Beauty and the Beast." Joining O'Hara will be Barry Norflett, a local musician who is dedicating the concert to his son Aaron, a young boy who was lost to cancer several years ago. The concert is sponsored by Candlelighters for Childhood Cancer of Southern Nevada.

Research institute readies program
The Women's Research Institute of Nevada is accepting applications for it's Summer 2003 New Leadership Nevada program to be held June 19 through 24 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The statewide nonpartisan program sets out to empower college women to take on public leadership roles. The six-day program is open to all undergraduate women in any major who attend colleges and universities in Nevada, as well as Nevada residents attending colleges outside the state. Keynote speakers will include Shelley Berkley and Marilyn Gubler.
