AWARDS

Children win

Summerlin contest

For the 12th consecutive year, Summerlin children have depicted the abundant amenities and activities of America's best-selling, master-planned community in the annual 'Why I Love Summerlin' Valentine art contest, said Tom Warden, vice president of community relations for The Howard Hughes Corp.

This year, 18 schools were invited to participate in the contest. Of the numerous entrants, six winners representing different age groups were selected.

Winners will receive a $50 Best Buy gift certificate and their drawings will be featured in a special Valentine ad in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Members of The Hughes Corp.'s marketing and community relations departments judged the entries.

The winners include 7-year-old Spenser McDonald, 12-year old Brittany Korcal, 3-year-old Shamzi Alkaff, 15-year-old Michael Miller, 8-year-old Abigail Tighe and 17-year-old Rachel Zareb.
