ART
Student works on display
Students in the Reed Whipple Cultural Center's ceramics classes are slated to exhibit their work in the center's gallery at 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North from Friday through Sept. 26. The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday. Admission is free. Those interested can call 229-4674. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Bourbon Street presents karaoke
Bourbon Street is hosting the Fat Daddy's Karaoke Contest at 9 p.m. every Saturday through Monday this month with a finale on Aug. 28. The Grand prize winner will be booked for a one-week contract in "Spotlight" the variety show, receive a six-night stay at Bourbon Street, and a $250 cash prize. Health District offers immunization times
The Clark County Health District has scheduled times at Back-to-School Fairs for immunizations at two local malls.
Parents and guardians are urged to bring their children, with existing immunization records, to The Meadows mall, 4300 Meadows Lane, on Saturday and Sunday and the Galleria at Sunset mall, 1300 W. Sunset Road, Aug. 28 and 29.
The cost is $15 no matter how many immunizations a child needs. The health district accepts Nevada Check-Up and Medicaid.
For other locations where Clark County Health District staff will be, parents can call 383-1351 or visit the main office at 625 Shadow Lane, near University Medical Center.

Soul tribute slated for Saturday
A free "Tribute to Soul" is scheduled to take place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.. Call 229-4800 for information.
