CPA firm adopts

new name

Patton & Petersen, an 18-year-old Las Vegas-based CPA firm, recently changed its name to PattonStephens to increase visibility of Jackie Stephens, a partner for the past eight years.

Founded in 1986, PattonStephens specializes in serving the financial needs of small to mid-sized businesses in a wide variety of professional industries.

Kaercher & Associates

celebrates 50 years

Kaercher & Associates Insurance Brokerage Inc. is celebrating 50 years in business in Southern Nevada this year.

The company was formed in 1954 after founder William F. Kaercher became successful at selling life insurance for Pierce National Life Insurance. His son, Allen, joined the company in 1969 and became company president in 1990, and the firm has since grown to 35 employees.

Kaercher has contributed to more than 100 charities and business groups, and recently donated $350,000 for the parking lot of the Clark County Bar Association's new building.

earn special honors

Century 21 Advantage Gold, the largest Century 21 firm in Nevada, is now the fourth largest Century 21 firm in the world. The Las Vegas firm, with more than 800 agents and six offices, recently was given the distinction at Century 21's international convention in Las Vegas. The firm sold 7,000 homes in 2003 for a total of $38 million in sales.

Judy Grimm, proprietor of Grimm's Boutique located at Trails Village Center in Summerlin, was recognized recently by the Brighton Accessories company for her sales and year-to-year sales increase performance. Grimm's Boutique was recognized for its 53 percent increase in sales of Brighton accessories in 2003.

The Southern Nevada chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) recently honored Marilyn G. Winn, senior vice president and general manager of both Harrah's Las Vegas and the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino for Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., at its annual Women of Distinction Awards, held March 6 at the MGM Grand Conference Center.
