HEALTH
Hospice Month to be celebrated
The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization reported that the nation's 3,300 hospice providers served 1 million patients last year.
November is National Hospice Month and Nathan Adelson Hospice -- Southern Nevada's only nonprofit hospice and palliative care organization -- will celebrate the month educating the community about the range of choices available when coping with life-limiting illness.
"Most people think hospice is what you do when there's nothing left to do," said J. Donald Schumacher, president and chief executive officer of NHPCO. "That couldn't be farther from the truth. Hospice provides a wide range of services to the family and patient that maximize quality of life and help people live as fully as possible, on their terms."
Nathan Adelson Hospice has three locations in Las Vegas: 4141 Swenson St., 3391 N. Buffalo Road, and at 2160 N. Rainbow Blvd., Suite 270; and one location in Nye County at 1480 East Calvada Blvd., Suite 1000A, in Pahrump.
For further information about Nathan Adelson Hospice, call 733-0320 or visit www.nah.org.
