Fund-raiser invites participants to play
The Arthritis Foundation of Southern Nevada plans its Playtime fund-raising event for 7 p.m. Friday at the Caesars Palace Event Center. Proceeds will benefit Camp Sol, a summer camp for children with arthritis.
Playtime is set to include an inflatable obstacle course, bungee run, human bowling, rock wall, basketball, sumo wrestling, batting cage, wacky trikes, putt-putt golf, dunk tank, air hockey and more.
Guests are invited to come dressed as they did when they were 8 or 9 years old, or at most, in casual attire. Tickets, which include dinner, are $75 each.

Dance company plans `Rockin' in Rhythm'
The Sun City Dance Company plans to present its new show "Rockin' in Rhythm" at the Starbright Theatre, 2215 Thomas Ryan Blvd., in Sun City Summerlin. The performances are planned to start Friday through Sunday; with additional performances planned Nov. 5-7 and Nov. 12-14.
The Friday and Saturday performances will be at 7 p.m. The Sunday performance is a 2 p.m. matinee. Tickets are $11 and are available 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday at the Desert Vista Community Center, 10360 Sun City Blvd.

Fall art festival set for November
Mark Vranesh Studio plans its fall art festival for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7 at Village Square Shopping Center in Peccole Ranch. Village Square is on the northwest corner of Sahara Avenue and Fort Apache Road.
Dozens of artisans from around the country will be on hand for the free outdoor event.
Wine Affair to benefit Komen Foundation
Lite-FM 100.5 and the Suncoast plan a 2004 Wine Affair from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the hotel's grand ballroom.
There will be wine, music, food and a silent auction as well as entertainment by comedian Benny Ricardo.
Tickets are $30 plus tax. A portion of the event benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Reserve tickets at 636-7075.
Boutique and bake
sale scheduled
The Women of St. Joseph plan their annual Holiday Boutique and Bake Sale for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 7. The boutique will be held at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave.
Expect to find baby items, kitchen items, jewelry, craft pieces and holiday decorations. There will be a raffle for items like a basket of cheer, porcelain doll and an afghan.

MUSIC
Early music is theme of concert
he Augustana Vocal Ensemble of Denver will headline a concert of Early Music 7:30 p.m. Friday at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive. Works to be performed by the quartet include Bach Cantata 66 and solos from Bach Cantata 84 with the Desert Springs Chamber Orchestra. Also on the program are local tenor Voltaire Verzosa and guitarist Sven Rainey.
Ticket prices are $15 for the general public; $7.50 for students, seniors, military and disabled.

MEETINGS
Library district seeks input
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District has scheduled community meetings through December to receive input from the public on library services.
The meetings, which all begin at 7 p.m., will be at the Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive, on Monday; the West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd. on Nov. 8; the Summerlin Library, 1771 Inner Circle Drive, on Nov. 29 and the Spring Valley Library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd., on Dec. 2.
