Pavilion to host country star
Kathy Mattea, hailed as one of country music's most distinctive and critically acclaimed artists and a multiple Grammy award-winner, is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion.

Watercolor show on display at library
The Nevada Watercolor Society's Spring Show is on display through May 24 at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway. The show of 50 paintings was juried by Marci Boone, a nationally known artist.

Public affairs speech open to public
Rita Mier, public affairs specialist from the Social Security Office will be the speaker at a Seniors United meeting at noon today at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
Seniors United is a nonpartisan group open to all who are interested in the political structure of out state and country. For more information, call 641-8283.
Water safety event held on Sunday
The second annual Float Like a Duck event, hosted by Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross, The City of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services and Paragon Pools, will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the City of Las Vegas Municipal Pool, 43 E.
