Medical assistance team helped out

Four members of the NV-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team deployed on the eve of Hurricane Katrina returned to Las Vegas on Sept. 6 after working in the New Orleans Superdome.

A strike team was deployed from Las Vegas and pre-staged in Houston on Aug. 28. After Hurricane Katrina whirled away, the strike team arrived at the Superdome in New Orleans in the early hours of Aug. 30.
