Taste of the Nation Las Vegas is planned for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. May 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center south hall lobby, 3150 Paradise Road.

The event combines the art of cooking with the art of giving -- 100 percent of the proceeds go to feed those in need.

This is the 13th year of the Taste of the Nation event. It incorporates local restaurants, corporate sponsors and community members to help raise money for Nevada's hungry, while offering attendees the chance to sample some of the valley's finest fare.

Local sponsors include Aramark Co., the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Bechtel Nevada, Soroptimist International of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Food and Beverage Magazine and Smart City. Recipients of the funds that are raised at the event include Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, Community Food Bank of Clark County, UNCE Chef for Kids and Project Manna.

Tickets can be purchased for $60 in advance or $70 at the door. VIP admission is $75 advance and $85 at the door. For more information, call 943-6868 or visit www.tasteofthenation.org.
