Nevada Power has announced that electricity rates are expected to remain stable until June 2007, following approval of a settlement agreement by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada. Nevada Power filed its last annual mandatory deferred energy case on Jan. 17, 2006, requesting a rate increase to recover some purchased power costs.
The approved settlement agreement allows full recovery over a two-year period, holding rates flat through 2006 and at least until June 1, 2007.

City traffic engineers have completed a traffic study at the intersection of Grand Montecito Parkway and Centennial Parkway at Councilman Steve Ross' request. The traffic study determined that this intersection met all of the Nevada Revised Statute's requirements for a four-way stop.
This project was complete on July 17. The city urges caution to motorists who drive this area until residents become familiar with the traffic control changes.
