Celebrating its seventh year, Camp Silver Pines is designed to offer adults 50 years and over the time of their lives, while offering a reprieve from the scortching desert sun.
Set amid the pine trees of Clark County's Camp Lee Canyon in the Toiyabe National Forest, Camp Silver Pines gets under way Sept. 13-15, with mail-in registration available now. Space is limited, early registration is recommended.
Camp Lee Canyon is a historic facility that was built in 1936 under the Works Project Administration. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The camp is rustic and features sleeping cabins with bunks, a recreation hall, a dining hall, a bath house and an outdoor amphitheater.
An all-inclusive, $110-per-person fee covers activity supplies, transportation, meals, snacks and a T-shirt. In addition, an Emergency Medical Technician is available onsite.
