ACCOLADES

Glen, Smith & Glen Development honored

The National Association of Industrial and Office Parks of Southern Nevada has awarded Glen, Smith & Glen Development the 2005 Trendsetter Award.

The company's first commercial office project, The Park at Warm Springs, garnered the 2005 Spotlight Award as well as a landscaping award from the Las Vegas Valley Water District.

Crockett named trial lawyer of the year

The Nevada Trial Lawyer's Association has named J.R. Crockett Jr. as 2006 trial lawyer of the year. Crockett was nominated for the award by his longtime law partner, Rich Myers. Crockett has handled landmark cases at both the trial level and on appeal. He received the honor at an awards ceremony June 27 at the Four Seasons.

Area companies appoint new personnel

Miriel Vasquez has been hired by Professional Permanent Cosmetics as office manager.

Payroll Solutions Group has hired Kendra Speck as benefits administrator.

Regina Melton has been hired by Silver State Bank as a real estate loan clerk.

Joseph F. Schmitt has joined Snell & Wilmer as an attorney focusing on real estate, environmental, energy and finance. WRG Design Inc. has hired Brian Bigelow as survey crew chief, Travis Carter as project designer, Justin Wright as senior project surveyor and Jason Nelson as survey crew member.

MONEY

Rhodes Homes makes donation to Henderson

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce received $50,000 from Rhodes Homes in May. The donation was made as part of the chamber's annual golf tournament which helps raise money to support Nevada State College and the Henderson Chamber.

OPENING

SouthwestUSA Bank opens in Summerlin

SouthwestUSA Bank opened at 2283 N. Rampart Blvd. The branch is the bank's first one aside from its headquarters on Eastern Avenue.
