Herr teacher an inspiration to all

Herr Elementary School principal Sharon Popolo believes in honoring teachers, as well as students for work well done.

Her nomination for Teacher of the Month for February was Janet Burns.

Our PE teacher, Ms. Janet Burns, is an example of such a person. Ms. Burns interacts with all of the students in a gentle and caring way. She is a role model to all students and teachers, demonstrating how a special person goes above and beyond to help kids.

Ms. Burns donates her time each week to provide a physical fitness program (Jogging and Walking Stars, JAWS) for our students. She wears her No Place for Hate button on her lanyard every day and lives that motto in her daily life. Ms. Burns also incorporates Jump Rope for Heart into her curriculum, and what a heart she has!
