Usually perceived as a football school, the University of Notre Dame is suddenly being recognized as a power in the sport of women's tennis, thanks in great part to a talented pair of twins, Catrina and Christian Thompson, who graduated from Bishop Gorman High School.

If form holds, the dynamic duo will be right in the thick of it, trying to help their fellow Fighting Irish make some noise at the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships being held this week at the Taube Tennis Center at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
