View welcomes announcements of recent achievements of Favorite Sons & Daughters who have graduated from local high schools. Achievements may run the gamut from earning a college degree to successfully climbing Mount Everest. Kayla Elizabeth McIntyre, 14, has been chosen as a state finalist in the 2006 Miss Nevada Junior Teen Pageant, which will be held June 16-17 at Palace Station.

Kayla is an eighth-grader at Mannion Middle School, and is an aspiring model and actress.

She enjoys snowboarding, volleyball, cheerleading and hanging out with her friends.

Her mom is Maureen McIntyre of Henderson.

Mya Constantino, 9, a third-grader at Frias Elementary School, won the Pretty Little Princess Pageant held in Las Vegas, March 19, at the Atrium Suites Hotel.

Mya received a trophy, a bouquet of flowers, a sash and a crown, along with a 10-week scholarship to John Robert Powers Schools, where she plans to take a modeling class this summer.

Her parents are Elizabeth and Edgar Constantino of Las Vegas.

The Green Valley chapter of the National Charity League, a mother/daughter service organization, will honor 18 Henderson-area high school girls at its annual senior presentation, similar to a debutante ball, June 10. at Rio.

The girls, all graduates of the class of 2006 at their respective high schools, are being honored after six years of membership in the organization that provides service to Henderson-area charitable and nonprofit organizations.

Each girl, along with her mother, has provided volunteer service to nearly 20 different community organizations.
