The Vegas Vettes will present Corvette Roulette from Thursday through Sunday at the Stardust and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
More than 300 Corvettes from around the world will roll into Las Vegas for the event.
Thursday's events will include a welcome party and registration. Friday will serve as competition day, with two autocross races and Las Vegas Style Fukana at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Saturday's events will include a car show at the Stardust Pavilion and Rally Around Las Vegas. Sunday will include an awards ceremony and a grand buffet brunch.
The Nevada Conservatory Theatre's main season will open at 8 p.m. on Friday with "Private Lives," a comedic play about a divorced couple in the late 1920s.
"Private Lives" follows the story of a divorced couple who have each remarried and honeymoon in the same hotel with their respective spouses. The meeting results in the re-igniting of their passion, as well as the combustibility of their relationship.
The performances will be at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and Oct. 12 to 14 in the Judy Bayley Theatre. Matinees will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday and Oct. 14-15. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $20 for students, senior citizens and military personnel.
'Folies Bergere' offers deal for Nevadans
The Tropicana is treating Nevada residents to two-for-one tickets to "Folies Bergere," which has been running for 47 years.
Nevada residents must present a local ID when purchasing tickets to receive the discount.
"Folies Bergere" is performed at 7:30 p.m. for all audiences and 10 p.m. for the topless show on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and at 8:30 p.m. for the topless show on Tuesday and Friday. Guests must be ages 16 or older to attend the topless show.
Tickets are $59 for table seating and $69 for booth seating.
Inaugural koi show set at Palace Station
Koi enthusiasts, hobbyists and vendors are welcome to attend the Las Vegas Koi Show, set for Friday through Sunday at Palace Station.
The UNLV Wind Orchestra kicks off its fall season 7:30 p.m. Thursday with a concert of music composed in the 1950s and 1960s.
The concert celebrates the Golden Age of the wind band by presenting music written specifically for that medium.
Tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 for students, military personnel and senior citizens and free for UNLV faculty, staff and students.

Brazilian filmmaker's movies to be shown
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, in conjunction with Nevadans Organized to Better Address Diversity, will present the films of Brazilian filmmaker Water Salles at 7 p.m. each Tuesday through this month.
Each movie screening is free and open to the public. The movies will play at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. All movies, except where noted, are in Portuguese with English subtitles.
The series kicks off tonight with "Foreign Land." In the thriller, a young Brazilian man decides to return to his mother's place of birth. The movie is not rated and runs 100 minutes.
In "Midnight," set for Oct. 10, a man refuses to spend the last day of the 20th century in prison and agrees to kill his best friend in return for freedom. The film is not rated and runs 72 minutes.
In "Central Station," to be shown on Oct. 17, an old woman who works in Rio de Janeiro takes a 9-year-old boy on a journey to find his father after the death of his mother. The film received two Oscar nominations in 1998 for best actress and best foreign language film. "Central Station" is rated R and runs 106 minutes.
"Behind the Sun," to be shown on Oct. 24, follows the story of two feuding families. The movie is rated PG-13 and runs 106 minutes.
The final film "The Motorcycle Diaries" on Oct. 31 depicts the journey of Che Guevara and his best friend Alberto Granado by motorcycle across South America in the 1950s. The 128-minute film is in Spanish with English subtitles and is rated R.
Hitchcock series to begin at Winchester
The Alfred Hitchcock Film Series will begin 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the theater inside the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, with a showing of "39 Steps."
Throughout this month and November, patrons will be able to view select films and a 10-minute clip after each movie discussing the director and his films.
The movie schedule includes "Rebecca" on Oct. 11, "Strangers on a Train" on Oct. 26, "Rear Window" on Nov. 9, "North by Northwest" on Nov. 16, "Psycho" on Nov. 22 and "The Birds" on Nov. 30.
Admission to each movie is $3.

Mental health group to host inaugural walk
The Southern Nevada Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will host its inaugural Walks for the Mind of America at 7 a.m. Saturday at UNLV.
The walk will raise funds for the local NAMI chapter and the people it serves.
The Alzheimer's Association will hold its annual Memory Walk from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the Fashion Show mall.
Approximately 500 people are expected to participate in the 1-mile walk, which is meant to raise awareness and funds for local services that help individuals with Alzheimer's disease.
Desert Springs Hospital will hold its 15th annual Health & Diabetes Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The hospital will provide free screenings and exams, including blood pressure checks, lipid panel and blood sugar check, eye exams, feet exams, osteoporosis screenings and peripheral artery disease screenings.
Rite Aid will give flu shots for $25. Cash, culinary, Medicare and Secure Horizons will be accepted.

Terrible's Hotel Casino recently opened a new parking garage and tower.
The 500-car parking garage allows patrons to directly access the casino.
The new tower also is complete. Each room features a 42-inch plasma television. The new Jacuzzi suites in the tower are designed to provide guests with luxury, comfort and relaxation.

UNLV to offer info series on marathon
The UNLV department of kinesiology, the New Las Vegas Marathon and the University of Nevada School of Medicine will offer a series of presentations for participants in the upcoming New Las Vegas Marathon.
The series is free and open to the public and will feature experts from UNLV and the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
Each session will run from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Marjorie Barrick Museum auditorium.
Laura Kruskall, chairwoman of the UNLV department of nutrition sciences, will share nutrition information for athletes on Oct. 11.
The physiology of training for distance running will be discussed on Oct. 17. UNLV professor of kinesiology Lawrence A. Golding will present the program.
Brent Mangus, associate professor of kinesiology at UNLV, will explore the types, mechanism, prevention and rehabilitation of running injuries on Nov. 7.
Biomechanics of injury-free running will serve as the topic of discussion on Nov. 14 with John Mercer, chairman of the department of kinesiology at UNLV.
Year 2005 marathon winner Angie Bestwick will offer her advice on marathon strategy on Nov. 28.
