VegasGolfer to present Golf Fest Vegas III

VegasGolfer Magazine is hosting Golf Fest Vegas III from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the South Coast Events Center, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Attendees will have the chance to win prizes, meet the Caddy Chicks, participate in skill contests and receive golf tips from local pros. Tickets are $12 and children under age 10 are free.

Motorcycle ride to benefit foundation

Registration for the second annual Las Vegas Ride for Kids will be from 8 to 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 1 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.

The ride begins at 10 a.m., rain or shine, and the route will go to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and end at Blue Diamond park.

Registration is $35 per bike.

Wendy's searches for exemplary athletes

The Wendy's High School Heisman award celebrates students who serve as role models in their communities, and encourages future leadership by recognizing well-balanced lifestyles at an early age.

To be eligible for the award, students must now be in their senior year of high school, maintain at least a B grade point average, and participate in one of the 32 sports sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools. Schools are asked to nominate two seniors by Oct. 2.

TENNIS

Junior Team Tennis League forming

The Nevada Tennis Association is forming a recreational tennis league for youth ages 18 and under.

The league will get under way beginning the first week in October.

WRESTLING

Wrestling group seeks volunteers, coaches

The Southern Nevada Wrestling Association is seeking parent volunteers and coaches for its upcoming season.

Youth programs include wrestlers from kindergarten through eighth grade. The season runs from November through March.
