City ranks among best for walking
Henderson is sixth on national list

Prevention magazine and Walkable Communities Inc. recently named Henderson the sixth-best walking city in its Best Walking Cities of 2007 list.

"We have a beautiful city, and we want people to be able to get outside and experience all the opportunities that are unique to Henderson," Mayor James Gibson said in a statement provided by the city. "Our parks, trails and recreational amenities add value to our city, but more importantly, they promote healthy lifestyles for our residents."

Mobile classroom entertains, educates Lamping Elementary students

Third-grader Cody Faska places one hand on a glowing plasma ball and reaches out to grab the light stick that Sgt. 1st Class Humberto Almaguer holds out to him. As he grasps the stick, it glows brightly.
