At its March 20 meeting, the Clark County Planning Commission voted to:

Approve the waivers of development standards first extension of time to commence the following: 1) reduce landscaping; and 2) increase wall height in conjunction with an approved condominium complex on 20.3 acres in an R-5 (apartment residential) (ae-65) zone in the MUD-2 Overlay District on the east side of Swenson Street, 250 feet north of Flamingo Road.

Approve the tentative map for a commercial subdivision on 3.2 acres in a C-2 (General Commercial) (AE-65) Zone on the west side of Eastern Avenue, 275 feet south of Sunset Road.

Approve the holdover use permit to increase building heights in conjunction with an approved resort hotel and resort condominium development on 37.3 acres in an H-1 (Limited Resort and Apartment) (AE-65 & AE-70) Zone in the MUD-1 and MUD-2 Overlay Districts on the northeast corner of Tropicana Avenue and Deckow Lane, 300 feet east of Koval Lane.

Deny the waiver of development standards to increase the maximum number of rental vehicles allowed on a portion of 1.3 acres in an H-1 (Limited Resort and Apartment) Zone in the MUD-1 Overlay District on the east side of Paradise Road, 370 feet south of Twain Avenue.

Approve the use permit for an outside food cart in conjunction with an existing adult cabaret on 1.2 acres in an M-1 (Light Manufacturing) Zone on the east side of Wynn Road, 325 feet north of Tompkins Avenue.

Approve the use permit to allow a beauty salon in conjunction with an existing office complex on 2.2 acres in an H-1 (Limited Resort and Apartment) Zone on the north side of Desert Inn Road and the west side of Pawnee Drive.

Approve the vacate and abandon a portion of right of way being Green Valley Parkway located between Patrick Lane and Ramrod Avenue (alignment) in a C-2 (General Commercial) (AE-65) Zone.

Approve the tentative map for a mixed-use subdivision consisting of 44 condominium lots and a commercial element lot on 1.4 acres in a C-2 (General Commercial) (AE-65) Zone on the west side of Green Valley Parkway and the north side of Ramrod Avenue.

At its March 21 meeting, the Clark County Planning Commission voted to:

Approve the amended use permit for a restaurant; waivers of development standards to reduce on-site parking; design reviews for the following: 1) a restaurant; and 2) an 85-foot-high, free standing animated sign on a portion of 12.3 acres in an H-1 (Limited Resort and Apartment) Zone in the MUD-1 Overlay District on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard South, 650 feet south of Circus Circus Drive.

Approve the holdover zone change to reclassify 1.2 acres from M-1 (Light Manufacturing) Zone to H-1 (Limited Resort and Apartment) Zone in the MUD-1 Overlay District for future tourist development on the east side of Valley View Boulevard, 150 feet north of Twain Avenue.

Approve the holdover use permits for the following: 1) additions and modifications to an existing resort hotel/casino (Tropicana Resort Hotel) with 9,276 hotel rooms; 2) resort condominiums; 3) public areas including all casino, showrooms, live entertainment, shopping center, indoor and outdoor dining, entertainment, offices, meeting, convention, and back-of-house areas, and parking structures; 4) increase the height of the mid-rise and high-rise towers; 5) kitchens within the rooms; 6) associated accessory and incidental commercial uses, buildings, and structures; and 7) deviations from development standards; deviations for the following: 1) reduced on-site parking; 2) permit tandem/valet parking spaces; 3) encroachment into airspace; 4) reduce the height setback ratio; and 5) all other deviations as depicted per plans on file; waiver of development standards for non-standard improvements (pedestrian barricades) within the rights of way (Las Vegas Boulevard South and Tropicana Avenue); design reviews for the following: 1) a resort hotel/casino with mid-rise and high-rise towers with all accessory and incidental low-rise buildings and structures on 34.4 acres in an H-1 (Limited Resort and Apartment) Zone in the MUD-1 Overlay Districts on the south side of Tropicana Avenue and the east side of Las Vegas Boulevard South.

Approve the amended use permit for a place of worship with an 80-foot-high architectural feature (minaret); design review for a place of worship with an 80-foot-high architectural feature (minaret) on 1.7 acres (previously notified as 1.3 acres) in a C-P (Office & Professional) Zone on the southwest corner of Rawhide Street and Caliente Street.

Approve the appeal waivers of development standards for the following: 1) additional monument signs; 2) reduced separation between monument signs; 3) reduced separation between monuments signs and project identification signs; 4) alternate locations for project identification signs; and 5) monument signs not assigned to specific pad sites on 4.1 acres in a C-2 (General Commercial) Zone on the southwest corner of Eastern Avenue and Richmar Avenue.
