Jessica Shappie, 18, graduated from the United States Army Military Police School, 787 MP Battalion at Fort Leonardwood, Mo., Feb. 15.

Shappie was stationed with the 164th MP Company at Fort Richardson, Alaska, before she was deployed to Iraq in July.

The 2006 graduate of Eldorado High School was in ROTC for three years, and was a member of the volleyball, soccer and tennis teams.

She is the daughter of Linda Shappie of Las Vegas and Stacy Faircloth of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Rhett Buttle, a 2003 graduate of Cheyenne High School, graduated with honors from the University of San Diego, May 27.

Buttle, who earned bachelor's degrees in political science and sociology, graduated cum laude.

He served as student body president and received the Alcala Award for scholarship, leadership and service. He was a member of Mortar Board, the Order of Omega and Kappa Gamma Pi.

Buttle, the son of Debra Stubblefield and Donald Buttle, was selected for a fellowship in the California governor's office.
