Durango YMCA offers youth league

The Durango Hills YMCA, 3521 N. Durango Drive, is offering a basketball league for youth ages 6-15 from Aug. 17 through September. Practices will be held on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, with games on Friday and Saturday. The cost is $90, plus uniform fees. Call 240-9622.

SJGA summer youth camps continue

The Summerlin Junior Golf Academy summer camps, for children ages 9-17, are being held throughout the summer at Angel Park Golf Course.

Camps are held almost every week, from 8-11 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and special evening camps are offered from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Volunteers needed for Frys.com Open

Volunteers are needed for Las Vegas' only PGA Tour event, the 2007 Frys.com Open.

The event benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children and will be held from Oct. 8-14 at TPC Canyons and TPC Summerlin.

Rainbow YSL sets up fall signup dates

The Rainbow Youth Soccer League will be holding signups 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Aug. 18, and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and Aug. 15 at Villa Pizza, 3385 S. Durango Drive.

Northwest League signs up girls

The Northwest Girls Softball League is open to girls ages 4-18. The season runs from August to November. Beginners and advanced players are welcome.

Dash & Splash set for Aug. 18

Swimmers of all ages are invited to the city of Las Vegas Department of Leisure Services' Dash & Splash on Aug. 18 at the Pavilion Center Pool, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive. The family event will include a 1.5-mile run through Veterans Memorial Park and a 300-meter course swim. The entry fee is $15 per person in advance or $20 on event day.
