Company earns employee award

Sierra Pacific Resources received the 2007 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense.

Representatives of the company will accept the award at a ceremony on Sept. 12 in Washington, D.C.

Hospital to give sun tips for seniors

Southern Hills Hospital will host Sun Safety in Seniors from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 22.

The program is free and open to the public and includes lunch.

FUNDRAISER

Sip and raise funds for Opportunity Village

Smell, swirl and sip for a cause as the Inaugural O-Vino Wine Tasting to benefit Opportunity Village takes place 3-7 p.m. on Aug. 25 at Green Valley Ranch inside the Estancia Ballroom.

Tickets are $50 in advance and $70 the day of and are available at all Lee's Discount Liquor locations, Opportunity Village and all Station Casinos Rewards Centers. Attendees must be at least 21 years old.
